Manali is the best resort town in the Himachal Pradesh state of India. This famous backpacking destination is also loved by honeymooners equally. Tourists visiting this place can enjoy both summer and winter sports as this place is apt for both seasons.

Manali is not only known for adventures but so many religious and wildlife sites are also present there. Due to this unique feature, people belonging to different age groups can enjoy this place equally.

1. Hidimba Devi Temple: It is the most popular sightseeing place in Manali and it is included in almost all the Manali Trip packages. This particular temple is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, who was the wife of the strongest among Pandavas, Bhima.

This temple is believed to be ancient and dates around 400 years back. Surrounded by dense Cedar forest, this temple lies at the foothills. The beautiful architecture of this place, featuring carved wood and stonework, is best to be captured on your camera.

About seventy metres from the main temple lies another temple dedicated to Ghatokacha, the child of Bhima and Hidimba.

2. Solang Valley: Located at a distance of around 13 km from Manali, Solang Valley is known for its breathtaking views and is one of the most favourite destinations for adventure sports enthusiasts and honeymooners.

If you want to have some rest in the lap of nature away from the metropolitan noise, there is no better place than the Solang. From here, you can get a splendid view of glaciers, the snow-capped tops and also the plains blanketed in snow and ice.

For an indoor resting place, you can take a room in the guest house of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports. In the summer season, adventure activities such as paragliding and others take over this area, apart from trekking and camping.

3. Jogni Waterfalls: One of the best remote places in Manali is Jogini Waterfalls. The natural scenery of the place is so mesmerizing that you can not come over it. The location is just 3 km away from the main Manali market and transportation is not a problem to reach this place.

The way towards the waterfall is full of orchards, pine forests and several small streams. You can take a bath in the waterfall pool and the experience is truly mesmerizing. If you like the idea of a picnic then this could be a perfect pick for that.

4. Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk Art: If you visited the Hadimba temple and would like to visit some other nearby places then the Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk Art is a suitable option.

The display of religious relics scale models, unique household objects, old weapons and instruments among other things, is truly amazing for a wanderer.

5. Tibetan Monastery: This monastery was built by the Tibetan refugees in 1960 and is also known by the name Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa. This is a perfect place to indulge in some meditation activities.

Travellers who are in search of a place for peace and solitude then the Tibetan Monastery is the answer for them. The Buddhist philosophy of non-violence gets its representation in the unique architecture and the paintings inside the monastery. You can also buy some Tibetan handicrafts as souvenirs from the local market here.

6. Rohtang Pass: The gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, this pass is a postcard destination for travellers. This of its kind destination is located at 51 kilometres. away from Manali at an elevation of 3980 meters on the Manali - Keylong highway.

The activities that you can take up at this place are skiing, ice-skating, paragliding and others that draw people from all parts of the country and outside to this place. Nearby the Pass is the Sonapani glacier and also the twin peaks of Gaypan, the same are famous for the striking panoramic views and peaceful atmosphere.

7. Beas Kund Trek: The beautiful landscapes and the unimaginable diversity of this place would never fail to fascinate you on your visit. Apart from being one of the most attractive tourist places, Manali is also the way to the notable trek named the Beas Kund Trek.

This is quite a popular destination amongst the various trekking practitioners that provides people peace away from the hustle and bustle of the urban areas. While taking this trek one can experience the mesmerizing views of the mighty Pir Panjal Mountain range beautifully standing at the backdrop of the river Beas.
